The Last Days of Meyers


I really thought I'd get a few little juicers from my beautiful plant, but the dozens of delicious smelling clusters have fallen, one by one to the floor.  

I've had to use imported Meyers to supplement my frozen cache to make my tarts.  But tasty they are.  

I am learning the tricks of not overblending the butter into the pastry and as an experiment, I added the last crumbs of toasted oat cereal and flaxseed.  1 tbsp, not enough to make it dry.  

The result? A subtle toasty crust that really looks homey and holds up well on a plate.
